Today the topic of discussion is: Thesis Statements.
Thesis statements are a vital skill to master when writing essays.
The thesis statement is what directs the entire piece of writing. It is your steering wheel.
If you write a good thesis statement, your grades will increase.
A strong thesis statement answers the question you want to raise. It does this by presenting a topic, sharing the position that you are taking or defend, and a blueprint of how this is going to be presented.
There are three simple ways that you can create a good thesis statement. They are:
1 - Something, does something, because reason.
2 - Because reasons, something, does something.
3 - Although opposing evidence, reasons show something does something.
In the beginning stages of learning how to write a good thesis statement, using a formula is a good way to go. But in time, you will develop your own style, and when you get to that point you will not need to use a formula at all.
Example:
Topic: You have just turned 18 years old, and have received some money from family to go on a holiday anywhere in the world. Write down one place you would like to visit, and explain why you would like to travel there.

1 - I would like to travel to Egypt, because I love Egyptian architecture.
2 - The Valley of the Kings is a place with a rich history, which is why I want to see it.
3 - I would like to practice my Arabic, and become more fluent.
Thesis statement:
With money I was gifted, and could travel anywhere. I would travel to Egypt. I love Egyptian architecture, and want to see the Valley of the Kings, I also want to become more fluent in Arabic.
